Terms of Booking

Notice

All of my cakes are handmade to order. It is therefore advisable to provide as much notice as possible when placing your order to avoid disappointment.

Payment

An invoice will be sent to you shortly after placing your order, outlining details for payment. 

Wedding orders: a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure your date. The full balance is required at least 1 month prior to your wedding date.

Celebration orders: full payment is due at least 7 days prior to collection/delivery. 

Amendments

If you require any changes to be made to your order, then please make this request in writing. If the changes affect the cost of the order, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly.

Wedding orders: any changes to your order can be made up to 1 month prior to your wedding date.

Celebration orders: any changes to your order can be made up to 7 days prior to collection/delivery.

Wedding Cake Tasting Consultation

For all wedding orders I offer an optional cake tasting consultation for £20. The cost of this will be deducted from your final balance on orders over £200. Any adjustments to your booking can be made up to 14 days prior to your appointment.

Save the Date

If you are keen to secure your wedding date but are not quite ready for a tasting consultation, then you can secure your date with a non-refundable £50 deposit. The deposit includes the £20 tasting fee. The full cost of the deposit will be deducted from your final balance on orders over £200. For orders under £200, the full cost of the deposit, minus the £20 tasting fee, will be deducted from your final balance, ie. £30.

Cake Board

Wedding cakes are served on a reusable clear acrylic cake board. If you are able to return the cake board in good condition within 1 month following your wedding date (in person or by post), then I will reimburse the cost of £10.

Cake Stand Hire

The cost of hire is £10 per stand, with a £50 refundable deposit required per stand. The deposit will be refunded upon safe return of the stand(s). The stand(s) must be returned within a month of your event date.

Allergens

Please note that whilst every effort is made to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, all of my cakes are made in a kitchen where allergens, including gluten (wheat), eggs, milk & nuts, are used on a regular basis. Please inform me of any specific allergen requirements when placing your order and I will endeavour to meet your requests.

Delivery

Delivery is charged at £0.30/mile round trip, with a minimum charge of £10 for wedding orders. The distance is determined by the shortest distance provided by Google Maps. I cannot be held responsible for any damages which may occur once the order has been delivered.

Collection

If you choose to collect and transport your order yourself then you should ensure that your vehicle is clean and tidy and clear of anything that could fall on the cake. I would recommend transporting your cake either in the car boot or foot well, using a piece of non-slip matting. Please be aware that cakes are very fragile, so please try to take as much care as possible when driving. If it's a hot day, then it is advisable to use the air-conditioning to keep the cake as cool as possible. I cannot be held responsible for any damage which may occur once your cake has been collected.

Cake Storage

I recommend storing your cake in a cool place or in the fridge, and then bringing it up to room temperature for an hour or so before serving.

Shelf Life

Your cake is baked to ensure that it is fresh for the date of your event. My cakes are made using only natural ingredients and so don't contain any artificial preservatives. I cannot guarantee the quality of your cake if it's consumed more than 48 hours after the event.

Non-edible Items

Most of my cakes will contain some non-edible items, such as support dowels, ribbon, flower tape, etc. It is your responsibility to ensure that any non-edible items are removed by the caterer/guests prior to consumption.

Outside Events

Any cake placed outside during an event has the possibility of melting/deforming due to heat. It is advisable to keep cakes indoors in a cool environment. I am not liable for cakes once the have been delivered/collected.
